Acupuncture Point Combinations
by David Hartmann
The most common question I get asked from students/practitioners is how I construct the acupuncture point combinations in my textbooks and workshops. This free 1.5 hour workshop will answer that question with the goal to aid your future treatments.
Acupuncture Point Combinations
Course Overview
After graduating at the end of 1996, I used my spare time to go back through every single page of notes that I wrote during my Chinese medicine degree (plus all my textbooks). They were filled with nifty little point combinations that I moved across into a clinic folder. With every patient that I saw, I tweaked/adjusted, then enhanced, these point combinations until I had a more thorough selection of points I could use for my patient’s ailments. As you can imagine, my folder ended up full of acupuncture point combinations, so my solution was to alphabetise these combinations on my computer. During this time, I started working at a college in Brisbane, Australia and the students suggested that I make it into a textbook. And so, the ‘Acupoint Dictionary’ was born, first as a self-published text, before the publishing company Elsevier Churchill Livingstone took it international in 2009.
Almost from the first day the Acupoint Dictionary was published, the most common question I was asked was how I constructed the sacred acupuncture point combinations contained within? This led me down a path I was not expecting, and I started to write a second book; designed to teach the reader how to analyse/enhance, their own acupuncture point combinations. This was picked up by the publishing company Singing Dragon and they released it internationally in 2020. This resulted in other questions and so this workshop was born and will discuss different aspects of acupuncture point combinations.

I highly recommend this course, and David Hartmann himself. I’m looking forward to taking more courses by him. The APC approach makes a great deal of sense, and is what I have been looking for to help me do better, more effective acupuncture treatments with fewer needles. Thank you, David, I appreciate you, your knowledge, and your style! Karyn M.United States of America
